Typically used in colder climates
A higher-density foam than open-cell, closed-cell spray foam insulation is an air barrier, water resistive, and vapour barrier. Closed-cell can be installed anywhere in the home.
Typically used in warmer climates
Open-cell is superior as an air barrier and often used to insulate interior walls to minimise outdoor noise intrusion. Not recommended for outdoor applications.
